Dear John......=AMAZING
(preview taken from official website)
After much begging and persuading, hearing the "it's a chick flick, I'm not that interested in going to see that..." I was able to get the hubby to accompany me to a sneak preview of the movie, Dear John. My Rating: ***** stars!! I loved it and shed too many tears to name!! This movie is so romantic and displays the true meaning of everlasting LOVE. It really takes a look at how the war can seperate love by millions of miles but no matter what... in the end true LOVE will prevail!!
Directed by Lasse Halstrom and based on the novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook), 'Dear John' tells story of John Tyree (Channing Tatum), a young soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), the idealistic college student he falls in love with during her spring vacation. Over the next seven tumultuous years, the couple is separated by John's increasingly dangerous deployments. While meeting only sporadically, they stay in touch by sending a continuous stream of love letters overseas--correspondence that eventually triggers fateful consequences. It's a must see. Awesome date night movie, just in time for Valentines Day!!

documentary called "BABIES"....= Amazing
(Youtube)
Babies is a documentary film by Thomas Balmes, depicting the early lives of four infants growing up in Bayar in Mongolia, Poni in Namibia, Hattie in San Francisco and Mari in Tokyo, respectively. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States by Focus Features on April 16, 2010 (youtube.com), coming out in NY & LA around at that time then wider release in select markets 4/23….then DVD comes out October/November.
The Focus Features web site for the film says it follows them “from first breath to first steps, on a journey at once universal and amazingly original.”
I am excited to see this documentary because it shows that even though these babies are in completely different parts of the world, they all need the same basic things. The preview is so captivating and the imagery is vivid!!
Take a look and let me know what you think!

A Feminine Touch....my style, my way...right now
I don't care what the style books, mags, websites are saying is in style right now...I think that style comes from within. People have their own personal style and items that may look great on one person may not always flatter someone else. I feel like one’s choice of fashion is very personal and no one has the right to define that for you. A quote that I have always loved…
Fashion condemns us to many follies; the greatest is to make oneself its slave.
-Napoleon Bonaparte
For me, lately, I have really been drawn to more feminine pieces and textures... Although I may not dress like this from head to toe I still like to add at least one of these lovies into my look to add a touch femininity
I am LOVING:
Soft gold and tarnished silver
Exquisite pearls
Delicate Lace
Gray, Pink, Ivory, Grayish Blues, Classic Black and Navy
(all above pictures from google search)
I'm thinking Paris, Romance, Love.
and all this is inspired by my wedding style
(fun times)
What is your personal style? What are some of your staple pieces? Do you have anything that when you wear it your friends say, “that’s such a (your name here) outfit/item?”

Winter Blues...where I daydream I could be....
The days of no sunshine, brisk wind, and cold nights are here and a little drab. I find myself daydreaming about my beautifully romantic honeymoon in warm and sunny St. Lucia... If only I could turn back the hands of time. I hope you all are staying warm.

The Morning After - Earthquake Haiti 2010
The sun is about to come up. The aftershocks continue. Some more noticeable than others. There is no way to even begin to share the things we’ve heard and seen since 5pm yesterday. To do so would take hours that we don’t have to give right now. Some of them feel wrong to tell. Like only God should know these personal horrible tragedies.
The few things we can confirm – yes the four story Caribbean Market building is completely demolished. Yes it was open. Yes the National Palace collapsed. Yes Gov’t buildings nearby the Palace collapsed. Yes St Josephs Boys home is completely collapsed. Yes countless countless - countless other houses, churches, hospitals, schools, and businesses have collapsed. There are buildings that suffered almost no damage. Right next door will be a pile of rubble.
Thousands of people are currently trapped. To guess at a number would be like guessing at raindrops in the ocean. Precious lives hang in the balance. When pulled from the rubble there is no place to take them for care Haiti has an almost non existent medical care system for her people. To read more go here.
Count your blessings today and always and continue to have hope even admist your suffering.
Thank You God,
Ronita

Mrs. O so FABULOUS!!!
Recently, while browsing the aisles at my local TJ Maxx I came across this awesome book for half the list price. I was so super excited about the deal but even more excited about the topic. I have been very intrigued by our First Lady's style choices, mixing high end with low end pieces. I have been flipping through it ever since. I even brought it over to my cousin's house for the New Year and even my husband's grandmother couldn't put it down!
The book takes a look at First Lady Michelle Obama's fabulous fashion and it is lovely. It's complete with awesome pictures and super fun interviews with some of her favorite designers!! This was a great investment and will make a great coffee table book!! Some of my lovies might even get this for their birthday!!!
While looking for a picture to snag for this post I came across a blog that the book was named after and. It is a complete chronicle of the First Lady's fashion wardrobe. She is truly an inspiration! Be fabulous ladies!

Hair Rules....it's worth a try!!!
I have been natural since 2006 and have been going back and forth between getting it pressed and trying to get my ultimate curl pattern to come out.... I came across this video done by the ladies over at 55 Secret Street. They paid a visit to Anthony Dickey, creator of the popular line of products and salon called Hair Rules. I mentioned in my review of 2009 beauty products that I LOVE KINKLY CURLY products but wanted to try the Hair Rules line. Well this video has encouraged me to not only try the products but gave me helpful encouraging hints about how to maintain my naturally kinky/curly hair!!
ENJOY
Do any of my natural readers have any helpful hints to keep natural hair at it's finest? Any styling tips? Have any of you tried Hair Rules?

Speaking it into existence.....a HOUSE in 2011!!!
People say blessings and curses are in the power of the tongue. Well, we are speaking positivity and blessings into our life and for our family and friends. We are taking 2010 to get our finances in order and our son enrolled in a great school so that our vision of our dream home can be obtained...
Some of the details I would love in our house... (my dream home)
Hardwood floors throughout
4 bed rooms (playroom, office)
Large eat in kitchen to practice my favorite past time, COOKING. I would love something that opens up to a family room with bar and island...
Spacious dining room to host dinner parties
Man Cave aka "Man Den" .....for my honey to escape and watch his favorite things (football, HEROS, Entourage...)
"Spa" Bathroom for my Mommy Time
Fireplace
An open backyard for BBQs, for the boys to run and play
I know that it probably won't be just like this but I can hope and I can dream...work hard and pray!!
I am looking forward to whatever God blesses us with!!
The best is yet to come...
xoxo
