My Current Obsessions: July Edition

(via)

... Martha Stewart's Homekeeping Handbook...This book is filled from beginning to end with awesome tips on how to keep up your house. This is especially important for me because often times I feel like even if I take one day off things begin to pile up. Every page has very helpful ideas and suggestions for basic to in depth cleaning and upkeep. I try to do a little bit each night.

...yummy Coconut Macaroons....what a sweet summertime treat!!! I used this recipe, also seen here. Notice there are some missing... (I couldn't help myself)

... a beautiful summer bouquet from my hubby... They remind me of fuzzy sweet peaches...

...exploring Cincinnati's Fabulous Findlay Market with my boys (all 3) ...I love buying fresh fruit and vegetables from all the local farmers. I take them home and make yummy things like...

...sweet mango banana smoothies..(with added flax seed oil, for me)... I use two ripe bananas, 3/4 cup of frozen pineapple, tablespoon of honey, 1. 5 cups of almond milk, and a handful of ice... the boys love it and it is so healthy and cool during these dog days of summer...

Last but not least momma's babies...

... the boys wrestling, Roman is quite the "muscle" He likes to let his BIG brother know who is boss...

Budget DIY: Sunny Entry Table

I mentioned back in May (see post here) that I found this very cute entry table sitting so lonely on some one's sidewalk. After stuffing it into my little PT Cruiser (which was very funny) and unloading her by the door ...I  let her sit for awhile. Well two weeks ago I finally decided enough was enough and wanted to give her her own personality. I went to Walmart and bought paint and came home and got to work.  Every time I walk in the door I get a dose of sunshine!!! It makes me smile even in the darkest times!!! I am still looking for some black and white wallpaper to place on the back of the shelves but I must saw it is coming along quite nicely!!!

Table= $0
Paint=$10
Total=$10

BEFORE:
With a little bit of primer

AFTER: I call her Sunni

I Heart TO

The hubby and I had a fantastic time exploring Toronto, ON for our first year anniversary. It had the best of all worlds, big diverse city, quaint beachy towns, and fabulous suburbs!! We hope to return soon...maybe even with the boys...

The CN Tower

Bubble Tea...a new experience, we are still trying to figure out what the black things are...

Dundas Square at Night

Of course I found a vintage shop...with the sweetest sales clerk. It was filled with all sorts of retro items from clothes to toys and household items. too much fun!!

Lunch on the beach....

This great little store where you could buy "hemp" pari in the front and the back had a patio where you could smoke your "own" weed. We agreed that smoking weed must be legal in Canada?

Much needed happy hour after exploring the city by foot in 90 degree weather...

Our yummy anniversary dinner

The Art Gallery of Ontario

Breakfast time!!!!

Bloor for shopping whores  :)

Truly Canadian

Side note: their gas was EXPENSIVE. For about a half tank it cost $50. I was out done.

Where will the wind take us next time... I am dreaming Italy!!!

We shall see..
