football football...fall sports...

Tre' had his first football game of the season this past Saturday and they won 20-6!!

I love that my children are involved in organized sports. They are learning valuable life skills like teamwork, sportsmanship, endurance, how to interact socially with teammates and opponents, how it feels to win, how it feels to lose, and as their coaches put it the importance of being student athletes. Academics first, sports second!
They work hard and have fun together.

Throughout this time though, one of the greatest joys, is watching my husband coach my son. What a special time for them both and hopefully one they will cherish forever. A special bond is forming, something that me, as his mother, won't ever have but I know is such a blessing for them both.

We are hoping for a great football season...and are also looking forward to Roman starting T-Ball next month.

These little men keep us busy but we am blessed to have them.

Back to School 2013

and we are officially back to school!...

Tre' had his first day of second grade last Thursday and Roman had he first day of Kindergarten Friday. What a joy to see them so eager to start a new school year. I am praying for a year of safety, for the teacher's to have patience and the stamina to teach the children, and  for a year of fun learning for not only my boys but for all the children.

Here are some of our first day of school pics.

Good Luck My Boys!!

CINCINNATI SPOTLIGHT: Family Night at Paul Brown Stadium

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!!

Well...I am not that thrilled...that means our Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays will be consumed by football...in person and on screen...but I was ready for this event!
***
The Bengals held the first of two free Bengal's Family Night last week and we made sure our boys were in attendance. Tre' is now at the age where he is so into sports, not only the game but knowing all the statistics about the players and teams. Roman...well, he is more into the stadium treats, less the game. Between the great weather, fun inflatables, yummy treats, free poster and lunch bag, the boys had a fantastic time, and surprisingly so did I!

They ended the practice with all the players signing autographs. We now have two autographed posters to hang in their sports themed room.

If you are in the area and get a chance to make the August 11th night, I highly recommend it.
You can get more details, here.

doughnuts and nature walks

I love that we are in walking distance to so many great stores. One of our favorite being the Silverton Doughnut Shop. Saturday, instead of hopping into the car for a kick trip, I told the boys we were going on a nature walk to get doughnuts and chocolate milk!

Along the way we came across some beautiful flowers and some very mysteriously bumpy leaves.

These little boys of mine are truly a handful but oh what a joy.

Weekend Fun

This past weekend was one of the first weekends I have gotten together to get out of the house. This weather has been a mood killer for me. I'm working through it though.

I wanted to see what was going on in the city and boy was it a busy one.

The boys are signed up for a 6 week enrichment class. Roman is doing Ooey Gooey Science and Tre' is doing an Engineering Class. They love learning and exploring new things.

Next stop: Findlay Market for their Annual Mardi Gras celebration.
Music, beads, crawfish and booze...what more can you ask for ?! Well, the boys were a bit disappointed when they realized there were no parades like what they experienced last year.

While we were at the market, we of course had to get our Pho fill at our favorite Pho spot...Pho Lang Thang. This is a cure all noodle bowl soup!!

One of my final stops was to visit my favorite ladies over at LUSH Kenwood. They were having their Valentine's Day Party and I knew I couldn't miss it!!!

I'm looking forward to getting out this weekend to celebrate Valentine's Day with some of our close friends!

I love Cincinnati!

{The Deans 2012: Family Photos}

We have not taken family photos for a couple years now so it was time!

Here are a few shots from our shoot!
It's really hard to get the boys to smile naturally. Roman is always making funny faces.

AND our awkward family photo!!!!

{Shilito Elves Cincy}

Saturday we took the boys to see the Shilito Elves at Newport on the Levee. Thanks to local sponsors they were able to fund the refurbishing of this cherished holiday tradition.

The massive Lego train display was a hit especially since Tre' is into Legos now.

They spent time writing their letters to Santa.
Tre is so funny...he realized he had more to write after we dropped them in the mail.

Delivering our letters.

The elves hard at work sorting all those requests.

***
After the elves we took a ride back over the bridge to explore Fountain Square'.

We were treated to a carriage ride and watched the ice skaters go round and round.

The magic of the season is here...

If you are in the Cincy area make a day of seeing the elves.
You will love it.
