My Obsessions: Hair Edition

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the first ever Queen City Naturals hair meetup. I met a ton of amazing women and gained a lot of knowledge from our fabulous speaker. She spoke about the science of hair and why certain products work the way they do. I look forward to our next meetup in March!

I even caught up with an old friend who has also gone natural.

Here are some of the current hair products that I am truly obsessed with!

Giovanni's 50:50 Balanced Hydrating Clarifying Shampoo and Trader Joe's Nourish Spa Conditioner. Both products leave my hair super soft and super hydrated. I use Giovanni's 50:50 conditioner when it is a shampoo day. I usually use Trader Joe's Nourish conditioner for my cowash days.

My  Denman brush which helps to detangle without pulling out my hair. To set my hair (two strand twist or braids)  for my twist/braid outs, I use a mixture of Trader Joe's aloe vera gel and their jojoba oil.

Last but not least I sleep in a good satin cap which keeps my hair protected at night and prevents breakage or loss of moisture!

I am on the hunt for castor oil. I have heard a ton of great reviews about castor oil and natural hair. I will let you know how that goes!

If you are natural what are you go to products?
xoxo,
Ronita

I LOVE shea butter for dressing. Right now I use Aussie moist shampoo and conditioner(its NOT an all natural product) but it works nicely on my hair. I'm sour because I have 60 dollars worth of kinky curly CRAP that did nothing for me but gunk up my hair. I'm still on the hunt for some nice natural products that don't cost an arm and a leg. Less ingredients should be less money right? :) love you!

Yes I know what you mean about the Kinky Curly. I actually loved Kinky Curly when I had little to no hair or my TWA (Tiny Weeny Afro). It curled it up real nice and I used a diffuser to dry it. But the product itself it sticky. I am trying to move away from a ton of product and do more natural products...with less ingredients...

castor oil is good for soo much. you can use it to grow out your brows or fill in gaps. they have it at target.
