Top Gun: Flying High!!!

Let me just say I love Groupon.
As a Father's Day gift the boys and I gave the hubby a chance to fly a plane!!! It's something he has always wanted to do and I guess he says it was on his bucket list!!
Well when I checked my e-mail one May morning there it was, his chance.
He LOVED it and I think I started something. He says it's one of his new hobbies!!
He now wants to work to get his pilot's licence...goodness

My new fav place in Cincinnati...
You all know how much I love to cook, bake and entertain...well the hubby did an extra awesome job this year with my Mother's Day gift. He purchased me a GROUPON for a 4-week basic cake decorating class at a local company, Cincinnati Cake & Candy Supplies! Let me just tell you I am thrilled! Just in time for all the birthdays this Fall.
Class Description: A class that teaches you the basics of cake decorating. The class will meet the same night each week for 2 1/2 hours, for four consecutive weeks. You will be shown how to ice and border cakes, how to torte a cake with fruit fillings, basic flowers including a rose and rosebud, chocolate molding, writing, basketweave, simple figure piping including a clown, lacework, use of colors, etc.
EXCITED!!!!!
Oh the joy!!!
I even scoped out a fun class I am going to sign my mom and I up for to celebrate our birthdays together in September!!! Perfect night out...just the two of us!

My Namesake...I would have loved to met you...
In helping my mom pull together pictures for of upcoming family reunion, we have run across many pictures of my mom's mom, Grandma Joyce. She was 36 when she passed (my mom was only 16) and I still yearn to know as much about her as I can. I know she was a seamstress and a great cook! I guess that's where I get that passion!!!

Roman's HAPPY 2nd Birthday! Ice Cream Social: RECAP
We celebrated my son's 2nd birthday on Saturday May 8th with a super fabulous ice cream social!!! We had a blast dispite the cooler weather. I lost my voice but through it all he enjoyed his day!!
One more to add to my party planning event list...I think I may start a business...
(the ice cream sundae buffet...we had a little bit of everything and fun goodie bags to take home the candy)
