We're Going to New Orleans

I can not wait until Thursday, the boys myself, my mom and stepdad are heading to the Crescent City to celebrate Mardi Gras with our family! Although I will miss Scott I am glad to be sharing Mardi Gras with the boys.

Here are some of the things I plan on doing while down there.

1. Catching parades- between the Endymion, Bacchus and Zulu I know the boys will love seeing the bands and the ornate floats.
2. I picked up
3. Jay-Z's Decoded from the library and plan on digging into it on the road.
3. Special request from Scott- stock up on Zapp's potato chips and of course I will stock up on my Camelia's beans.
4. I'm hoping to get a couple pounds of some boiled crawfish. I hope they are in season!
5. I can't wait to hit up the Zulu Ball at the convention center with some of my cousins. This dress reminds me of the one I will be wearing.
6. Special request from Tre'- he wants to ride the street car again. This time we will do St. Charles route to see all the fancy houses.
7. KING CAKE and pralines- sugar overload!
8. A second line- I love second lines and know the boys will love to dance to the music.

Last weekend I came across The Josephine Baker Story movie on TVOne starring Lynn Whitfield. Boy was I intrigued and moved to do a little research.

Josephine Baker (June 3, 1906 – April 12, 1975) was a dancer, singer, and actress who found fame in her adopted homeland of France. Born in St Louis, Missouri, she renounced her American citizenship in 1937 to become French. She was given such nicknames as the "Bronze Venus", the "Black Pearl", and the "Créole Goddess"

Baker was the first African American female to star in a major motion picture, to integrate an American concert hall, and to become a world-famous entertainer. Cabin Fever Busters: Kid Tested Mommy Approved

As this cold, rainy weather continues we are trying to find fun things to do at home. We have been watching movies, reading books and of course playing games! I am going to start journaling with the boys soon so we can improve their writing skills. Right now, they are particularly fond of Connect 4 and UNO.

Challenge: getting past the "I won" "you lost" phase and explaining to them that it's just a game for fun. We are working on it. It's a work in progress, as everything in life.

Sidenote and updates: I have been taking a break from the blog to focus on me and my familia but I'm back and have some fun things to share. I actually picked up a paperback (which I'm trying to do more of this year), The Help, which I read and loved. I have been cuddling with my little men and connecting with my husband. I have been playing with my hair and creating some fun styles and am ready to get back in the gym!!

Happy 2012: My 30 Before 30 Revisited

If you have been following my blog a while ago me and some of my girlfriends got together and came up with some of our 30 before 30. 30 things we wanted to accomplish before we turned 30. Some may call get pretentious some may call it a waste but for me even if I can’t complete my whole list I am sure going to try.

Here is an update on some of the things I have been able to get accomplished. Some are a onetime deal and some are things I will work on for the rest of my life.

I love setting goals and completing them.

With that said my 30 before 30 revisited, tweaked and some additional events worth mentioning.

Here is to 2012 and beyond.

30 Goals before I turn 30: Sept 26, 2013

~~Pray more and worry less- continue to grow in my walk with God and understand that God is in control~~ CONTINUALLY

~~Continue to be the best wife and mommy I can be~~ CONTINUALLY

Visit my dad at least twice a year

Communicate more with my grandmother and Scott’s grandmother- pick their brains for family history and stories from “back in the day” - I find myself always with these two in my heart and whenever I get a free minute I love talking to them!

~~Take better care of my health and encourage my family to do better~~ CONTINUALLY

Master basic photography

Take a long train ride somewhere fun! - Probably not going to happen too expensive and boy does it take a very long time to get somewhere-with my work schedule and finances...we will see though...you never know....

Travel to visit all my girlfriends- by myself, no kids or hubby for some quality girl time (Texas; 2 parts, DC, Columbus, Cleveland, Cali, Arizona, Seattle, etc) A must THIS YEAR. So many changes!

~~Start a small business: I am too creative not to!!! - even if just on etsy (tooting my own horn)~~

Pay off at least 3 major bills: ~~car note~~, student loan, credit card- become debt free - Thank God I paid off my car in 2011. Working on the others.

Organize a massive yard sale/purge all my stuff and donate the money to a battered women’s shelter

~~Volunteer with the boys at a soup kitchen -~~ This past Thanksgiving we served with our church and it was such a great experience. I would love to do it again when they get a bit older and can truly understand what it means to serve the needing because in life you are only a day away from being in that position. This is something that I will want us to religiously do together.

~~Get on schedule to save $1,000/yr for each boy to give to them when they are 18 (set~~ up accounts)- CONTINUALLY This year we were able to save for both boys!

Go on a mission trip with my church - There will be a future post about this later looks like this is brewing for this year. Stay Tuned!

~~Get more involved at my church through a community group~~ - Scott and I joined a couples community group and we really enjoyed it. It was very hard from a time commitment stand point but boy what a blessing. We hope to be able to reunite with our group again soon.

Skinny dip in the ocean

Reunite with Zeta- become a financial active member - I'm planning on attending the 1st meeting of the year next Saturday. Fingers crossed and saying a prayer. I think I am in a better place.

Master my sewing machine - I lucked up on a Groupon for a sewing class and I am taking it ..tomorrow...I will be sure to post some pictures!

Sew a dress from scratch

~~Organize~~ ~~a successfully romantic and super fun couples retreat for our close friends~~ - I am crossing this off my list. although I didn't plan it for friends I did for family. We traveled to Gatlinburg for my mother's 60th birthday and we had a ball. Relaxing, beautiful and romantic.

Take French and Italian cooking classes

Write a memoir of my family’s account/story of surviving Hurricane Katrina- even if not published something to keep in the family

~~Make a really great gumbo without my mom’s help~~

Have 1 more healthy Dean baby - Everyday we go back and forth about this but as of today I am fulfilled and happy with my two amazing boys! They keep us so busy and on our toes.

Buy a house with a BIG kitchen, 4 beds, at least two baths, a man cave, big yard to share with all our family and friends - Well, with the market being the way it is right now we are content and blessed to be in our 3 bed 2 1/2 bath condo (in a great school district) and are fixing it up alittle at a time.

This dream house will be ours one day though.

Host a major holiday in my new house- where I do all the cooking

Visit vineyards in California- rent a convertible

Perfect making omelets

Howard Homecoming with Sorors

Travel to Italy and Greece - We are hoping for our 5th year wedding anniversary. We need to start planning now. This July will make 3 years!

Events worth mentioning:

I completed a 4 week cake decorating class

I started and grew my own vegetable garden which I will continue to do annually

Watched my boys spread their wings: swimming, starting school, learning to read- the list goes on...

Witnessed my husband give his life to Christ

Not matter the goals you set for your life know that nothing is impossible!

Crafty Crafty: Our Gingerbread House

The boys and I (Scott's too much of a perfectionist) had a fun time making our very first gingerbread house together. Trader Joe's made it so easy! The kit was $7.99 and worth every memory!! We even got out old Halloween candy to use on the house. The boys loved sticking a piece and sneaking piece ....hehe

Simply Stated: Holiday Gift Guide- For a Family

Last year my dad and stepmother gave us such a cute Christmas gift.

A movie bin.

It was something that was perfect for our little family! A large popcorn bin, filled with yummy movie candy, two fun DVDs (one for the boys and one for Scott and I to enjoy together), and a big bag of popcorn.

I took a little field trip (not that I wouldn't normally be here) to Trader Joe's to scope out some fab and budget friendly gift ideas for the foodie friends/family in your life.

Here are some of my top picks all under $15

They have a wide selection of festive cookies and candies.

They are great just by themselves or a couple different picks in a basket!

My favorite is the dark chocolate sea salt caramels!

You could make a gift basket with three or four different butters all just $2.29 each.

Add some preserves and a box or two of crackers! Viola

Their mini Christmas trees with silver glitter are so cute. Perfect for someone who lives in a small place or to help liven up someone's office space (think work Secret Santa)!!!

The gift that keeps on giving: For the true foodie: a rosemary tree! Fragrant and festive!! Something they can use after the holidays are long gone.

Our 2011 Advent Calendar

This year instead of overloading the boys on sugar each day of the Advent I have decided to do something a little different. After browsing different blogs and educational websites, I came across this activity that I thought would perfectly fit my family. Not only are we going to be able to knock out our December To Do List but the boys can get excited about pulling out a different activity each day.

I am going to tuck these little cards I made up with all the different things we want to do this month in each pocket of the calendar and the boys will pull one out each day!

Of course I will strategically place the cards and will have to prepare for the month but boy will this be a fun!!

I love this time of year because it's a time to reconnect with family and friends, reflect on the passing of one year, and a time to look to the future. Often times Christmas brings about a time of anxiety to get the right gift, prepare the right meal, invite the right people...I have decided to make it a time of simplicity!

Thanksgiving Libations: Gina's Red Carpet Cocktail

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups vodka, chilled

1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice, chilled

1/2 cup lime juice

1 bottle Champagne or other sparkling white wine

Chilled maraschino cherries, for garnish

Directions

Add 1 1/2 ounces of the vodka to each champagne flute. Top with 1 1/2 ounces of the pomegranate juice and 1 tablespoon of the lime juice. Add the Champagne or sparkling wine and a cherry to each flute for a sweet garnish.

Ronita's Mixtress Notes: To make it a bit more in season...I will probably use processco instead of champagne, spiced cranberry cider, and then garnish with cranberries and pomegranate seeds instead of the cherries.

Just in case a few friends stop by I plan to have a stocked bar.... ready to make this delicious cocktail!

Meeting The Neelys!!!

Oh we had a ball!!! Tre' was just as amazed to meet them as I was. Tre' loves to cook and be in the kitchen with me so we always joke that he is Pat and I'm Gina. He makes sure I know when they are coming on so I don't miss the show! These two were just as sweet and genuine as what you see on TV. I know you can just as easily print off recipes online, or get them on your iPad...but nothing beats a book that you can feel, see the beautiful pictures and read the family stories!!!

One day I'll have to get to Memphis to try their food!!!

Just a little snippet of them signing my book and me letting her know how much we love her red velvet recipe!!!

In the new cookbook it looks like there are some amazing recipes to celebrate everyday life!

I can't wait to try them all!!

First Up: Memphis Style Popcorn....for a relaxing movie night tonight with my boys. It's been a long week. Time to relax and unwind.

A little self pampering...My Fall Hair Routine

1. Vatika Oil 2. Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo, Conditioner, and Deep Treatment Masque 3. Oyin Handmade Hair Dew 4. Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie

The cooler weather is here and with that comes a change to my hair routine.

During the Fall and Winter months I have to add a ton more moisture or else my hair feels like straw!!!

My routine consists of a prepoo with Vatika oil (you can find a your local Indian food grocery) - I leave this in for at least an hour and sometimes overnight. After my prepoo, I shampoo with Shea Moisture’s Moisture Retention shampoo, followed by the deep treatment masque and then I use the conditioner as a leave in. I use a microfiber towel to lightly dry my hair and then add Oyin’s Hair Dew as a leave in. I will be twisting my hair probably all season and the best product I have found for twistouts/braidouts is Shea Moisture’s Curl Enhancing Smoothie…a little bit goes a long way!

For daily maintenance I use Oyin’s Juices and Berries, Burnt Sugar Pomade, and Shea Moisture Hair Milk and call it a night with my satin bonnet.

OMG Not Another Neely's Cookbook--Thrilled!!!

I love cooking, I love cookbooks, I love recipes, I love entertaining and I love The Neely's!!

I know a lot of people hate on the Neely's but I love them. I think they are amazing together and honestly their food is delicious! I got their first cookbook a couple years ago and can't wait to get this one. I'm sure it's chocked full of amazing recipes and family stories--just what I would expect from them!!

DIY Halloween: Super Heroes

We did costumes on a budget this year and guess what they loved them. I couldn't imagine spending $20 per costume for something they wouldn't wear again. We already had the capes which we had made a couple years ago at The Spotted Goose (a local boutique here in the city), we bought the masks for ($.99 at Party City) and the super hero belts for ($3.00 at Party City). Red shirt ($3.00 Walmart-and they can wear them again) and pants, which they had and viola!!! They were their own Super Heroes...total $14.00 and everything we can use again.

Weekend Fun

Still sad I missed my cousin's wedding in New Orleans but we had a great weekend in Cincy!

Friday after work we placed the final order on our floors and picked up our CSA box. This week we got zuchini, onions, potatoes, kale greens, mixed salad and eggs!!! I also did my last trimmings of my herb garden. I am going to dry everything and store for winter: oregano, basil, two types of sage and 1 pepper.

Saturday we woke up to a cool fall morning. What better then a warm pot of brown sugar cinnamon oatmeal, turkey bacon and warm applesauce?!

Tre' is having a skating party for his 6th birthday and we wanted him to see where his party would be and get used to skating before his big day! They both loved it and can't stop talking about it. What a workout for me, not only holding myself up but making sure my babies didn't go down....hilarious!!!

513CityFlea hosted another fabulous flea market this Saturday. Tons of booths in a beautiful space!!! While in Northside we also got to support a dear friend on his campaign trail for a Cincinnati Public School Board position. If you live in the district (we don't) please support Alex Kuhns for CPS board!

After the market Scott and went for sushi and drinks at The Painted Fish!

Let me just say I am a cheap date :)

Martinis and sushi perfect way to start the night!

We eneded the night going to a suprise birthday party for some friends that turned 30 (thanks mom for watching the boys)!! How fun!

I love when I get a chance to dress up a bit and try new makeup techniques.

We ended the weekend going church and cleaning. So much in just two days!!!

apple pie..no, apple fritters, no...applesauce!!!

Since I am doing a "No Junk Food Challenge" with some ladies from work, I realized instead of making that apple pie I have been meaning to make with all the apples we have, why not make something healthy the kids will love and that is perfect for my challenge.

Applesauce

4 apples - peeled, cored and chopped

3/4 cup water

1/4 cup white sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions
In a saucepan, combine apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon. Cover, and cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are soft. Allow to cool, then mash with a fork or potato masher

Our CSA: Cedarmore Farm, OH

During the summer I came across an opportunity to join a local CSA or Community Supported Agriculture. They were sold out of their summer shares but had openings to purchase a fall share. For $180 dollars for 10 weeks we get a fresh box of farm fresh organic produce and eggs. We picked up our first box this past Friday and boy what a treat!

Each week I will update you on what we get in our box!

Week 1:

Week 1 produce: Broccoli, Nappa cabbage, sweet potatoes, spinach, spicy mixed greens, zucchini, winter squash, green beans, and some very delicious brown eggs

If you are on the area and want to join this CSA, for their Spring, Summer or Fall shares click here. I fully recommend supporting your local farmers. It’s a win win situation. Healthy food for your family, supporting your local economy, supporting the farmers that provide the produce…what could be better?

Too Tipsy for LOVE: The KY Bourbon Trail in Pictures

The hubby and I took a two day hiatus from our very busy lives to spend time together and reconnect (blushing) and to celebrate our birthdays together. Anyways we wanted to do something that was different, close to Cincinnati and inexpensive. We headed about 100 miles south to a little town right outside of Lexington, KY called Versailles. What a beautiful place. We lucked out (through the LivingSocial coupon gods) on a two night stay at this wonderful BnB! The distillery tours were free and at the end of each one you got free samples (shots) of bourbon and some delectable bourbon ball truffles!!!

We spent one whole day on the bourbon trails and oh what fun!

On our final day we went to Keeneland Race Track to see the horses warm it!

A BnB Bourbon Getaway

Fall Recipes: Corn, Mushrooms, Pumpkin

Over the past week I have tried some really yummy fall inspired recipes. I went to my favorite produce store here in Cincinnati and lucked out on some yummy marked down aka "eat it as soon as you can " produce. Everytime I take a trip there I head straight to the marked down rack.

This time I found some really yummy treats.

Portabella mushrooms (which I have never cooked before). Corn on the Cob. Apples. Basil and Plantains

Here are 3 recipes I found on allrecipes.com that I tried and love...

Perfect for fall.

APPETIZER

Easy Portabella Mushroom Sautee

Ingredients

3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 1/2 tablespoons garlic flavored olive oil
1/4 onion, cut into chunks
2 portobello mushroom caps, sliced
salt and black pepper to taste
freshly grated Parmesan
freshly grated Asiago cheese

Directions
1.Warm 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil and 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic flavored olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in onions and mushrooms; reduce heat to low, and cook until the mushrooms are soft and blackened and the onions are black around the edges. (Add additional olive oil as needed.) Turn the heat off, drizzle with 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle generously with Parmesan and Asiago cheeses.

MAIN COURSE

Corn and Crab Bisque

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup onion, chopped
3 (14 ounce) cans chicken broth
3 cloves garlic
2 bay leaves
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
salt and pepper to taste
4 ears corn, kernels cut from cob
1/2 cup half-and-half
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 cup milk
16 ounces fresh lump crabmeat

Directions
1.Heat butter in a large pot over medium heat. Stir in onion; cook until soft and translucent. Pour in chicken broth, and bring to a boil. Stir in garlic, bay leaves, cayenne pepper, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir corn into boiling broth. Simmer about 10 minutes. Reduce heat to medium low.
2.Remove 1 cup of soup, and set aside to cool slightly. Then pour into a food processor. Pour in half-and-half. Puree for 30 to 45 seconds, and set aside.
3.In a small bowl, stir together flour and milk. Slowly stir into simmering soup. Stirring constantly, simmer for 1 to 2 minutes. Then stir in pureed mixture.
4.Reduce heat to low, stir in crab meat, and cook until warmed through, about 5 minutes.

DESSERT

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup canned pumpkin
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions
1.Combine pumpkin, sugar, vegetable oil, and egg. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Dissolve the baking soda with the milk and stir in. Add flour mixture to pumpkin mixture and mix well.
2.Add vanilla, chocolate chips and nuts.
3.Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for approximately 10 minutes or until lightly brown and firm.

Weekend Getaway...Mom's 60th Birthday

We surprised my mom on her birthday with a card that read, "pack your bags we are taking a family trip to the mountains!" She was overjoyed and we had an amazing couple days!

Here are some pics from the trip. If you are ever yearning for a complete retreat away from your daily hustle and you want to take in the marvels of the mountain I recommend these cabins in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee!

Cook Decorating Class I

Last night I took an amazing Basic Cake Decorating Class at Cincinnati Cake and Candy Supply. My hubby got this for me for Mother's Day and I signed up for their September class. It’s a 4 week class that covers how to properly ice and border a cake, how to torte a cake with fruit fillings, basic flowers including a rose and rosebud, chocolate molding, writing, basketweave, simple figure piping including a clown, lacework and use of colors. How exciting!!

Although this is not on my 30 before 30 I am adding it to the list because, wel,l it's something I've always wanted to do and I am accomplishing it!!

Below are some quick snaps from class last night. We learned about baking at various temps, the proper way to ice a cake, filling a cake with fruit, and making a buttercream icing.

My final product: I practiced transferring an image using piping gel, I outlined and practiced my stars to fill in this cute little piggy!

Homemade Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce

With all the fresh herbs and ripe tomatoes I have from my garden I decided to find a delicious homemade pasta sauce recipe. I found this one here and tweaked it a bit. The results were amazing!!!

Ingredients1 tablespoon butter
8 small tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic salt
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 cup water
1 clove garlic, grated

Directions

1.Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat; cook the tomatoes in the melted butter until they begin to fall apart, 5 to 7 minutes. Add the basil, olive oil, garlic salt, salt, and pepper. Slowly stir the flour into the mixture and cook until it begins to thicken, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir the water through the mixture to break up any lumps of the flour. Mix the garlic into the sauce and simmer another 5 minutes. Serve hot.

Cook's notes: I added just a sprinkle of red pepper flakes to kick it up a notch and while the tomatoes were simmering with the butter I added onion powder, oregano and sage from my garden and some dried thyme.

Labor Day Weekend Recap: FOOD EDITION: I probably gained 5lbs!!!

I started the weekend off with a date night with the hubby.

The boys went to the UNIVERSOUL Circus and we used one of our Groupons (I'm obsessed with Groupon) to go to an absolutely soul stirring restaurant

Local 127 where their motto is "Local 127 is a New American Eatery with an emphasis on Farm to Table Dining. Quality Local Sourcing provides only the Freshest Ingredients, prepared with a Respect for Tradition using the Innovative Tools of Today"

We enjoyed this meal so much!

Saturday morning we woke up and traveled to my little nephew's 1st birthday party!! Boy what a blast! We had so much fun and can't believe it's already been a year!

Her mom is the best baker in Columbus! You have seen her work in a previous post of our wedding.

She made our groom's cake. The birthday cake had a layer of lemon, peanut butter cup, and the bottom layer was red velvet and vanilla.

Before we left Columbus, I made the hubby stop at the world famous Jeni's Ice Cream and I finally got to taste...ooooooooh my I loved it!!!

I got the STUDY which is 4 scoops (of course) of any of the ice creams. I chose: Ugandan Vanilla Bean, Salted Caramel, Rockmill Golden Ale &Apricots, and the Sweet Corn and Berries

It was so good and well worth the trip!!!

Sunday we celebrated my mom's 60th birthday. I made a delicious homemade red velvet cake using the Neely's recipe.

I even had enough cake batter left for a dozen cupcakes!

We added a bit of relaxing, cleaning the house, folding clothes (switching our clothese over from summer to fall) and catching up on some reality TV!!

It was a perfect weekend.

I have gotten most of Tre's back to school shopping done. These pictures are such inspiration!

Weekend Fun

Friday, the hubby and I went to the Lil' Wayne concert and had such a ball together!

My niece turned 4 and her party was so much fun!!!

Going down that gigantic slide made me feel like a kid again!

Saturday night drinks and food with my Sorors

and Sunday...

We relaxed with the windows open and a cool breeze blowing with the smells of a huge pot of New Orleans red beans and rice brewing in the kitchen!

Concert Time!!!

Although I am not a big rap concert goer...I prefer the likes of Jazz and R&B artist...I am looking forward to a date night with the hubby, in some great seats, enjoying the beautiful weather listening to the likes of Lil' Wayne, Keri Hilson, Lloyd and Rick Ross.

Reflection during my blog break....

I have taken a little over a week off from the blog and gave myself time to just be. Recent events have me reflecting about how precious life truly is. We are all only here for a brief moment and all those moments whether high or low need to mean something. This past weekend, I was reminded that God didn’t put us here to judge others or to compare our lives to the lives of others. You never know their story or what they are truly going through. Focus on your life and how you can be a blessing to others. Your life is your own and no matter where you are in that life be thankful. There is always something to be thankful for and if you just look there is always something to be upset about, the key is how you respond to both.

I have been thinking about my purpose in life. Staying prayerful and quiet so I can hear what God may be trying to whisper. Until I hear him I will continue to work on being a present wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.

Tomorrow is never promised so be present for today.

Treasure Island

Tre’ has been doing a variety of fun camps this Summer thanks to the sponsorship of a special someone (who we are so blessed to have in our corner) and a couple weeks ago he participated in a theater camp at a local performance theater. Although it wasn’t his favorite camp (note: they do a wonderful job with the kids-it just wasn't for him right now) we were so proud of him sticking through it and his showing at his finial performance. Here are a few snapshots of his play!

Let me just say I love Groupon.

As a Father's Day gift the boys and I gave the hubby a chance to fly a plane!!! It's something he has always wanted to do and I guess he says it was on his bucket list!!

Well when I checked my e-mail one May morning there it was, his chance.

He LOVED it and I think I started something. He says it's one of his new hobbies!!

He now wants to work to get his pilot's licence...goodness

Just thinking about what a full weekend we had and all the blessings we received in the form of surprise family from out of town, traveling mercies, clean bills of health, love, food, worship, fellowship...too much to name but I am so overwhelmed by his mercy and love. I am thankful for the valleys and the peaks.
